Psalm 26:1 Vindicate me, O Lord,
for I have walked in my integrity,
and I have trusted in the Lord without wavering. Do you think you could say this? Could you say that you've trusted in the Lord without wavering?
OK, now try being honest with yourself: could you say that you've trusted in the Lord without wavering?
I know I haven't. And I don't believe that anyone ever has. Our faith wavers. Our faith falters. It doesn't make us faithless followers, it makes us human followers. But a faith and trust in the Lord that doesn't waver IS the goal. And it's a worthwhile goal. It's one of those goals (like all the best goals, in my opinion) that are never going to be reached. But in the striving, in the trying, in the reaching, your life is changed.
