ASLC Devotions - Holy Wednesday

John13:28  Now no one at the table knew why he said this to him.

The disciples didn't know it was Judas. They thought he was going out on an errand. Do you think if they knew it was Judas they would have let him leave? I tell you what, if I was a disciple I would have grabbed Judas, sat him down and lectured him-because I'm a mom. One of the worse punishments you can get is a mother lecturing you when you are a captive audience. Once we start and get on a roll you think it will never end, and you truly regret what you did or were planning to do.

Judas wouldn't have betrayed Jesus-not on MY watch. But this scenario doesn't fit with Gods plan. Jesus had to be betrayed to fulfill God's plan.

I think God temporarily makes us blind/deaf to our surroundings to carry out his will. The next time you realize that it has happened don't beat yourself up-accept it. God does it for our own good, because He knows how we are.
