ASLC Devotions - Holy Tuesday

John 12:35-36 Jesus said to them, ‘The light is with you for a little longer. Walk while you have the light, so that the darkness may not overtake you. If you walk in the darkness, you do not know where you are going. While you have the light, believe in the light, so that you may become children of light.’ After Jesus had said this, he departed and hid from them.

Imagine you throw the best birthday party ever for your best friend, Jesus.  You hire a DJ, and invite over the WHOLE school.  And Jesus is totally the life of the party.  He’s dancing on the table, talking with all the girls, telling awesome stories.  And then like an hour into it he suddenly gets a text message, and says to you, “Dude, I gotta go.”  And you say, “What do you mean, the party just started?!”  And he’s like, “Sorry, dude, my dad needs me.”  And you’re like, “What?  This party’s awesome!  Are you kidding me?”  And then he turns to everyone and says, “Hey, everybody – thanks for the awesome party, but I gotta go now.”  And they’re like, “What?  But, all those other guys haven’t even gotten here yet!”  And then he just high fives a few people on his way out, gets in his car, and drives away.

So – what do you do?  Do you cancel the party and send everyone home?
