ASLC Devotions - Friday

Romans 10:17 So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the word of Christ.

Any of you who are parents or grandparents want your children to grow in faith. You want them to learn to love God as you do, to trust God for the needs of life, and to walk in God's path. Any of you who are not parents or grandparents want that for others. I'm sure of it. And we all want it for ourselves: we want to grow in faith and we want our spiritual lives to be deepened.

So how does it happen? How does faith happen? Paul tells us that it comes from what is heard - the word of Christ. You can't believe if you haven't heard. People can't come to believe in Christ if they haven't heard the good news. That's the motivation for bringing your children to worship. That's the motivation for inviting your friends to join you for worship. So they can hear. So they'll know. So they can trust. And believe.

In Christ,
Pastor Seth
