Mark 4:25 For to those who have, more will be given; and from those who have nothing, even what they have will be taken away.
I've often been bothered by this verse. It doesn't seem fair for Jesus to say that even the little that those have nothing have - that will be taken away. Come to think of it, how can those who have nothing have anything taken away? They already have nothing. It just doesn't seem to fit, either with logic, or with the logic of Jesus and God as I know it.
But then I remember the little bit of faith I have. I remember the times when I join with one man who spoke to Jesus who said "I believe. Help my unbelief." I remember how I trust in Jesus - some of the time. I remember how I put my faith in Jesus - in some aspects of my life. And I hold fast to the promise that more will be given. More faith will be given. More trust will be given. And I open my hands to receive...
In Christ,
Pastor Seth
