ASLC Devotions - Wednesday

Psalm 28:6-7
6 Blessed be the Lord,
   for he has heard the sound of my pleadings.
7 The Lord is my strength and my shield;
   in him my heart trusts;
so I am helped, and my heart exults,
   and with my song I give thanks to him.

The psalms are rich with images of praise and thanksgiving. They're also full of language of pleading and need, often within the same psalm. One gives turn to the other. And we are thankful.

These verses are reminders of the trust the psalmist has in the Lord. When we are tired or ill, when we face difficult days and nights, we plead to the Lord -- because our hearts trust in the Lord. And we are thankful.

Peace,
Pastor Jenn
